| CASE STUDY : |
Nadine (Québec, Canada) |
| Nadine is a devoted teacher. Her classroom consists of students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The purpose of the class is to eventually enable the students to be mainstreamed into a regular classroom. Each of the students have personal audio-only FM systems. Although Nadine is a trained special education teacher, the school board knows that it is difficult for all of the students within the classroom to see Nadine's face at all times (depending on lighting, movement, etc). The school board thus decided to acquire an AudiSee system. In this particular situation, Nadine's face is displayed on a television that is placed at the front of the classroom. This enables all the students within the classroom to see Nadine's face at all times regardless of her movements and to hear her voice via their personal audio-only FM systems. |
