Organizations
may be lifted from expensive wired network and
telecommunications infrastructure by deploying a high-speed
self-configuring and self-tuning wireless mesh network for
static or mobile broadband communications. Wireless mesh
networking is implemented over a wireless LAN. This type of
infrastructure is decentralized, inexpensive, very reliable and
resilient.
Mesh networks are extremely reliable since each node is
connected to several nodes. Each node only needs to transmit
information to the surrounding nodes. Nodes acts as repeaters
and transmit data to peers, resulting in a network that can span
large distances, especially over rough and difficult terrains.
If one node drop out of the network, due to failure, or any
other reason, its neighbours simply find another route and
assure non stop proper data transfer. Extra capacity and
coverage can be obtained by adding more nodes.
- Quick network deployment
- Self-configuring
- Mission-critical communications
- Situation awareness
Frontline Communicator connected to a Mesh Network allows mobile
teams to communicate and share in real-time the same file, video
or images amongst each other and for many applications such as:
- Construction
- Mining
- First Responder / Public Safety
Certified Network
- MotoMESH from Motorola
- Strix Systems
